So should configure.cflags-append be used for the other ports that use configure.cflags? Or am I wrong in my recollection that configure.cflags-append should normally be used?

Boey, Great, thanks for confirming that. I went ahead and added -append since that solved breakage on MP 1.4.3. Mark
