#215: OpenSSL's SSLSocket appears not to be initialised correctly -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- Reporter: celtic@… | Owner: lsansonetti@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: major | Milestone: Component: MacRuby | Keywords: openssl -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- When using net/https, the line to create the new SSLSocket in `connect' fails in OpenSSL::SSL::Nonblock, trying to call @io.fcntl and failing since @io==nil. @io should be being set in OpenSSL's ossl_ssl.c:ossl_ssl_initialize; "ossl_ssl_set_io(self, io)"; but this function appears never to be called! (I tried inserting various rb_warns throughout, before finally just sticking in a call to exit() -- it's not being touched) This appears to be the only place where @io is being set. It disturbs me that the C initialiser is not being run - I am not sure if this is a documented issue or not, or if it's even a MacRuby bug (I'm quite new to all this). This problem can be 'fixed' in the meantime by rewriting SSLSocket#initialize in Ruby-land: {{{ def initialize io, ctx=nil ctx = SSLContext.new if ctx.nil? raise "wrong argument (#{ctx.class})! Implementing Undo In RaiseMan / MacRuby

I'm trying to implement the RaiseMan example from Aaron Hillegass's book in MacRuby. All has gone pretty well until I reached undo. The idea is to handle the insertObject message each time a Person is inserted and manipulate the undo stack. def insertObject(p, inEmployeesAtIndex:index) NSLog("adding #{p} to #{employees}") # <= Not called, huh? undo = @undoManager undo.prepareWithInvocationTarget(self, removeObjectFromEmployeesAtIndex:index) if !undo.isUndoing undo.setActionName("Insert Person") end employees.insertObject(p, atIndex:index) end The Objective-C signature for this is: - (void)insertObject:(Person *)p inEmployeesAtIndex:(int)index Works in Objective-C but in my Ruby, the method is not recognized as a handler to be invoked when a Person object is to be inserted in the employees array. I should note that I created the employees array using Ruby syntax: @employees ||= [] Changing this to: @employees ||= NSMutableArray.alloc.init makes no difference in this scenario. Any hints with respect to what I'm missing here? Thanks, Steve

MacIrb reports its version as 0.9.5. MacIrb starts and can execute ruby statements, but when I attempt to "require 'file'" and "file" is valid ruby source that uses code generated by wsdl2ruby, MacIrb just hangs. The same code works properly in irb using ruby 1.8.7. I have SOAP4R installed as a gem for ruby, but attempting to install soap4r using MacGem fails with the following message: Assertion failed: (real_argc + count < MAX_DISPATCH_ARGS), function __rb_vm_resolve_args, file vm.cpp, line 3050. Observed: The actual output file is over 69 mb, even with a base project with no code. Steps to reproduce: 1.) open the attached project in Xcode 2.) select the embed macruby target in the Active Target box 3.) build 4.) check the file size of the resulting .app file This embeds the whole framework, including all of the installed gems (including gems installed by the user!), tools, etc. Work around: Manually embedding the 'libmacruby.1.9.0.dylib' and using a copy files build step seems to work, but I haven't tested on systems without MacRuby yet.
