After installing binary release macirb is not working: {{{ /Library/Frameworks/MacRuby.framework/Versions/0.2/usr/lib/ruby/1.9.0/irb/context.rb:11:in `require': no such file to load -- irb/workspace.rb.bundle (LoadError) from /Library/Frameworks/MacRuby.framework/Versions/0.2/usr/lib/ruby/1.9.0/irb/context.rb:11:in `<top (required)>' from /Library/Frameworks/MacRuby.framework/Versions/0.2/usr/lib/ruby/1.9.0/irb.rb:14:in `require' from /Library/Frameworks/MacRuby.framework/Versions/0.2/usr/lib/ruby/1.9.0/irb.rb:14:in `<top (required)>' from /usr/local/bin/macirb:9:in `require' from /usr/local/bin/macirb:9:in `<main>' }}} and InterfaceBuilder do not recognize my classes. Installing testing branch form source fails. Objective-C SDL bindings accessible from Ruby?

I'm fairly new to objective-c, xcode, and the whole compiling/linking process altogether. But I was wondering if I link my SDL library to my xcode macruby project, can I access the SDL from both the Obj-C side and Ruby? -- --Timothy.

I've attached the project that I was using. The crash is intermittent but pretty frequent (over 50% of the launches). I've seen several different stack traces thrown at the same time, so it's a bit random. To reproduce: 1.) Open the attached project 2.) Build and go 3.) click on the Xcode window and then back on the application window Step #3 isn't always required. I am using Mac OS X 10.6.1 with the new Xcode 3.2 and the iPhone SDK installed. I am on an Intel Core 2 Duo laptop. I am using the nightly build: macruby_nightly-2009-09-29-1155 Changing the NSLog statement to puts seems to fix the problem. Failed Assertion from 2009-09-04 Nightly Build

Not sure whether this is the right way to report this, but I have a trivial XCode MacRuby project that consistently causes the assertion shown below. I can package up the project if need be. OSX 10.6.1 Here is the console log (did a Build > Clean All Targets, the Build & Run): run [Switching to process 6578] Running… Assertion failed: (castIsValid(getOpcode(), S, Ty) && "Illegal SExt"), function SExtInst, file Instructions.cpp, line 2385. My main.m and rb_main.rb are vanilla and copied from the FlickrDemo (which runs on my system). If I reduce rb_main.rb to the bare minimum of the following, I still get the error. framework 'Cocoa' NSApplicationMain(0, nil) I'm assuming it's something in my ObjC code that is causing the problem -- is there a good way to zero in on it? My llvm and MacRuby knowledge is pretty rough, so I'm not sure where to drop breakpoints. If there's a "don't use <datatype>" rule of thumb, that would be great, too, as that appears to be where things may be hung up. Thanks! -a. *
