ActionMailer in Macruby?

Hi There, I am trying to use actionmailer Macruby and I am not having any luck. I am getting an uninitialized constant error. The same script runs fine in ruby. Thanks, Shaun

Troubles getting some things to work

Hi, I've been working on a Ruby gem that I would eventually like to run on MacRuby, but I seem to have run into a couple of issues and have no idea what is going on. I would appreciate it if someone could take a look and see if I am not understanding something obvious. The gem is a SOAP client and uses Handsoap, which depends on one of a few different http drivers, depending on what you want. The default driver is curb, which does not compile successfully for MacRuby. Normally you have to compile curb with a universal binary of libcurl, so I suspect that architecture incompatibility has something to do with why the build is failing. LLVM 2.8

Hi, Is any effort being made to synchronize the upcoming MacRuby 0.7 release with the upcoming LLVM 2.8 release? How big are the changes to LLVM between the preferred MacRuby version (r106781) and the latest RC (https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/tags/RELEASE_28/rc2, r114689)? MacRuby HEAD doesn't build with 2.8rc2, (at a glance) related to the following changes listed here: http://llvm.org/docs/ReleaseNotes.html#whatsnew * LLVM 2.8 changes the internal order of operands in InvokeInst and CallInst. To be portable across releases, resort to CallSite and the high-level accessors, such as getCalledValue and setUnwindDest. * You can no longer pass use_iterators directly to cast<> (and similar), because these routines tend to perform costly dereference operations more than once. You have to dereference the iterators yourself and pass them in. I'm not expert on LLVM or MacRuby, but I'd like to see compatibility between 'stable' versions, so I'm happy to help if I can. Craig

Including and accessing C libraries

Hello. I would like to build an app using MacRuby and Cocoa to retrieve information from an LDAP server, combine it with other data and present the result to the user. I have not found a great framework in Cocoa for making and using LDAP connections. I also have not had success in including and using Ruby gems like Net::LDAP. My last resort is to try and use the OpenLDAP libldap C library shipped with Mac OS X. I am currently stuck at figuring out how to include and access this library from MacRuby. Does anyone know of documentation that may help? Evan

New to MacRuby and Cocoa

Hello All, First, let me introduce myself. I'm Mario Steele, I've been programming with Ruby for about 3 or 4 years now, mostly dealing with Ruby 1.8, and wxRuby (Also a maintainer there), and have recently decided to give MacRuby a try, since I've been using my Hackintosh setup more often. I'm not a new comer to Ruby, or GUI programming by far, but what I would like to know, is that if there are any Demos out there, dealing with various Controls provided by the Cocoa library, such as NSOutlineView, and NSTableView. Something that isn't written into the base code of the app, where all delegation methods for the window, and the application is inserted next to the stuff for the OutlineView and TableView stuff. I'm in the process of writting an iTunes replacement, based on similar setup, and design to Rhythmbox, and have gone out of my way, to get to the point where I am at now, but it would help my understanding more of the controls, if I see some code that strictly works with these controls, instead of code intermixed with other code for the App and Window controls. command line cocoa framework

Hey guys, I created a project to demo creating a framework from the command-line. http://github.com/diffengr/CommandLineCocoaFramework I wrote my piece in nu, but I'd love some other submissions, in case macrake had support for building frameworks, or if somebody had a rake file to do it.
