xcode 4.2 and Lion

Hi all, I just installed Lion (yesterday, latest GM seed) and XCode 4.2, but the IB outlets are not working. I've read that reinstalling macruby and/or xcode did the trick, but so far nothing... What should I reinstall in order to fix the bridge? Thanks! -- Rolando

Implement PXSourceList in MacRuby

Hi guys, I'm trying to implement a PXSourclist (http://perspx.com/work/) in MacRuby instead of re-inventing the wheel. The PXSourcelist demo builds fine, but when I try to port the dataSource methods over to MacRuby, the app tanks without much information. I'm wondering if someone could point out what is probably obviously wrong, or give me some pointers. I'm trying to implement this in MacRuby: https://github.com/Perspx/PXSourceList/blob/master/Classes/AppDelegate.m Here is what I have so far: https://github.com/danielwestendorf/MacRubyPXSourceListDemo/blob/master/Mac… I've stripped it down to the bare minimum to try and figure this out, but it errors out with "Program recieved signal: "EXC_BAD_ACCESS", and I'm not sure what that means. error when trying to build template project

Hello. When trying to run the empty template project with Xcode 4, I'm getting the following error: error: contents of '/Users/dft/Sourcecode/mrs/mrs/mrs-Info.plist' is a property list, but is not dictionary (is string) I've used the following description on how to change the build settings: http://redwoodapp.posterous.com/macruby-and-xcode-4-build-a-self-contained-… I appreciate any help! thanks!

Drop on Icon

I'm using a delegate class for the first responder of my MainMenu.xib class AppDelegate def application(sender, openFile: a_file) NSLog("Foo") return true end end My application should be able to open a webloc file. When I drop a webloc on the application icon, it never call the above method??? Someone have a solution ??? Thanks

xcode debugger support

having great fun with macruby and planning on building a lot of apps with it -- thanks to everybody who has contributed to bringing my favorite language to macs :) that said, i see in http://www.macruby.org/trac/ticket/1208 and have now suffered through with experience that proper debugger support in xcode is not currently supported, nor does it appear to be imminent. while i am plenty experienced with building big ruby things without a decent debugger -- i've built some fairly huge RoR sites using little more than puts and log grepping -- i don't think MacRuby will get far mainstream without integrated xcode debugging. lacking a real vote-up feature in http://bugreporter.apple.com, here is my bug submission if anybody else on the list wants to also submit this bug to "vote it up" -- this seems to be the only simple way to send a message, so... submit early, submit often. cheers, n@ *Title*: xcode does not offer an API to plug in alternate/complementary debuggers *ProblemID:* 9753880 *Product:* Developer Tools *Version:* Xcode 4 * * *Summary:* Using MacRuby and Xcode4 I can set breakpoints in Ruby files in the UI, but the debugger does not support actually stopping, stepping, etc, nor can it perform language-specific debugging/analysis/expression-evaluation. Per http://www.macruby.org/trac/ticket/1208, this is minimally a limitation of the debug infrastructure/API in xcode -- there is no API to integrate debugging properly so no effort has been expended to support it in MacRuby. *Steps to Reproduce:* 1. Use Xcode4 instead of Xcode3 -- Xcode3 will support creating and building the project, but won't allow you to even set breakpoints in the Ruby files -- it doesn't understand which lines are code, indentation, etc. 2. My MacRuby app has been accepted on the Mac App Store!

Hey Everyone! My App has finally been accepted onto the Mac App Store :-) http://luckymac.com/ It took a while but we got there in the end! Originally the app was named LuckyMac Lottery (as I was planning on doing a few 'LuckyMac' apps) but they didn't like the word 'Mac' in the app title so I changed it to 'Lucky Lottery'. The app wasn't planned - a friend crowd sources numbers for the lottery on Twitter, and so one day I created a Ruby script for him - and then thought, wonder if I could make it an executable script where he'd just have to double click it! Then, wonder if I could use MacRuby to make it into an App! Anyway, Have you got a lucky Mac? Find out with my app! How do people deal with macgem overwriting MRI gem binaries?

At the moment macgem will prompt the user with this warning when trying to install nokogiri (if you have already installed it with MRI): WARNING: You are installing a new version of /usr/bin/nokogiri. This file already exists with a different shebang, possibly from a different ruby implementation or version. This operation may break the script. Do you still wish to continue? Ideally I would like to install macgem binaries in /usr/local/bin - does that mean I always have to specify --bindir when installing and uninstalling gems with MacRuby? I guess it is possible to put the --bindir option in the ~/.gemrc file, but then it will be picked up by MRI as well as MacRuby I think. How are other people dealing with this issue? Cheers, Isaac

Creating an objective c bundle

Hi all, I was following the guide : http://www.macruby.org/recipes/create-an-objective-c-bundle.html In xcode 4, it compiles fine. However the packaging or something is creating some wrapping directories, it's not compiling into a single object / dynamic lib... the binary is at: test_engine.bundle/Contents/MacOS/test_engine ▸▸▸▸▸ MacOS viral$ macirb irb(main):001:0> require 'test_engine' LoadError: no such file to load -- test_engine Now if I rename the binary: ▸▸▸▸▸ MacOS viral$ cp test_engine test_engine.bundle ▸▸▸▸▸ MacOS viral$ macirb require 'irb(main):001:0> require 'test_engine' => true Any thoughts?
