 The same thing happens when you print in the thread:

 {{{
 t = Thread.new do
   print "thread\n"
 end
 t.kill
 }}}

 {{{
 $ macruby t2.rb
 terminate called after throwing an instance of
 'RoxorThreadRaiseException*'
 Abort trap
 }}}

 So it may be a general I/O problem rather than being specific to the
 select call.
