Good morning, Do you know how long until software will be available for Smartcard Services for MacOS Sierra 10.12.5? Most of the people I know have Sierra and none of us can log onto the Air Force portal. Thank you so much. V/R, Sherry

Thank you for your message. Every time I try download and open the item it says it is damaged and will not let me open it. Is this for macOS Sierra 10.12.5? Do you know any workaround to get the software so I can log into the Air Force Portal? Thank you! Sherry

The following worked for me ... but realize that when you install the Smartcard Services package it will overwrite any existing contents of /Library/Security/tokend
If you already have smartcard support software installed, such as Centrify, you'll want to backup the contents of /Library/Security/tokend, first. (I had Centrify 5.4.0 installed, and I expected it to break after installing the MacOS 10.12 Smartcard Services package. It did.) First, open up System Preferences, click "Security & Privacy" and then select the General tab. Note the "lock" in the lower left of the window. Unlock it using Administrator credentials. Leave the window visible as you double-click the previously downloaded Smartcard Services 2.1.2 [OSX 10.12].pkg file. You should get a message about the file not being opened because it's from an unidentified developer. Click Ok. Now, refer back to the Security & Privacy window, and you'll see a message about the package being blocked and why ... but there should now be an "Open Anyway" button. Click it. You'll then get additional warnings and multiple opportunities to change your mind. At this point, you're trusting that the downloaded package really is what it claims to be and not something malicious. Before you proceed you should ask yourself if you're ok with this being the last operation ever performed on that computer (as you've known it).

What is damaged? The .zip file or the .pkg file inside the .zip file? What is the error message exactly? Regards, -- Dr. Ludovic Rousseau
