I have been testing with a PIVKey T800. Supposedly it works fine with the native drivers however it is not recognized. On El Capitan modifying the file so that it is recognized (as recommended by PIVKey) is a pain. My question is, is there a reason why we can’t include the PIVKey identifiers in the smart card services install so that everything just works in El Capitan? Please help me understand what I’m missing. Thanks. __________________________________________________ Will Jorgensen IT Engineer Desktop and Mobile Services Pacific Northwest National Laboratory I want to hear your feedback
Will, The "PIVKey T800” is indeed already supported by the CCID driver included with El Capitan. Run the falling command on your system and you will see $ cat /usr/libexec/SmartCardServices/drivers/ifd-ccid.bundle/Contents/Info.plist | grep PIVKey <string>PIVKey T800</string> It is also listed on Dr. Ludovic’s ccid hw supported page: http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid/section.html#288 <http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid/section.html#288> The real questions is, what card profile (applet) is loaded on that device and do you have a corresponding tokend loaded for that ? HW Reader support is only part of the whole equation. - Shawn _____________________________________________________________________ Shawn Geddis geddis@{Mac | Me | iCloud}.com Security and Certifications Engineer, Apple geddis@apple.com Smart Card Services Project/Dev Lead: Project Wiki: [SmartCardServices.MacOSFforge.Org <http://smartcardservices.macosfforge.org/>] Mailing Lists: [Lists.MacOSForge.Org/mailman/listinfo <http://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo>] SCS Contact: [scs-cotact@macosforge.org <mailto:scs-cotact@macosforge.org>] SCS Admin: [scs-admin@macosforge.org <mailto:scs-admin@macosforge.org>] _____________________________________________________________________
