Greetings all, I note that there have been no changes in the software for almost a year. Is there any idea of when we might get the capability to use the Oberthur 128 v5.5 CAC cards? I have a growing number of people who have them and are getting very frustrated with the "you can't get there from a Mac" answer. Thank you, John
Thursby Software Systems is about to release PKard. This software includes tokend for all CAC and PIV cards. It has been in BETA for a while, and we should have the v1.0 GM today or tomorrow. The software configures your mac with tokend support (replaces the CAC and CACNG stuff), and adds may military bookmarks to Safari, configuring the identity prefs so that Safari will use the right CAC certificate when accessing the site. We test with a variety of card readers. Getting a card reader to work with the Mac has been problematic in the past, but most CCID compliant readers will work. We have tested with the following readers, and they all work fine: OmniKey CardMan 3121 - my favorite for a desktop computer. Has a weighted base. Omnikey CardMan 5125 - This one is a dual interface reader, but only the regular contact part of the reader work with Mac OS X. SCR3310 - A widely used reader. SCR3500- A fold up reader that is nice for traveling made by SCM Microsystems. P/N:905141 The old SCR331 with upgraded firmware. We tested with a ID Badge Holder marketed by Stanley Global. It did not work on the Mac even though my CCID test software thought it worked just fine.
