Gemalto Mac library dated 22 April 2010 installed.
Paul, You need a tokend for the Gemalto card in use for the card to appear in Keychain and be used by Mac OS X Apps using native Security APIs (i.e. Keychain APIs). If you are using the Gemalto PKCS#11 Library then a card would not appear in the Keychain, but would be usable by PKCS#11 based applications. On the flip side.... Note that with a supporting Tokend for a card you are using, the card could also be used within a PKCS#11 based application (i.e. Firefox) without a PKCS#11 library by using the PKCS11Shim provided in Mac OS X (first developed via MacOSForge Project). If you have this, point your PKCS#11-based application to use the following: /usr/libexec/SmartCardServices/pkcs11/tokendPKCS11.so -Shawn __________________________________________________ Shawn Geddis geddis@mac.com Security Consulting Engineer geddis@apple.com MacOSForge Project Lead: Smart Card Services Web: http://smartcardservices.macosforge.org/ Lists: http://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo __________________________________________________
