Hi Jeremy, I did change from .xinitrc to 90-kde.sh . /sw/bin/init.sh export KDEWM=quartz-wm exec /sw/bin/startkde &> /tmp/kde.log I've found the cause, which is responsible for the craziness of the CPU - I cant believe it - if I use the xterm or any other program like Kmail the CPU is normal, at the moment I switch to any other mac os x window or program the CPU goes crazy. I disabled line 2 and 3 no difference. . /sw/bin/init.sh #export KDEWM=quartz-wm #exec /sw/bin/startkde &> /tmp/kde.log so as long as I use an X11 program everything is fine - but if I put X11 in the background the CPU goes up. Any idea how to track this? X11-2.4.0_alpha2 - same issue with cpu 100%

GLX Updates in 2.4.0_aplha2

George has been putting together a new libGL for XQuartz that better supports the functionality available in OpenGL.framework (I think before we only supported OpenGL 1.2, and now it should be 2.0... is that correct, George?) as well as newer GLX versions (including pbuffer support). Copy/Paste ceasing

I've had a several occasions in the last week or so when selecting in an xterm doesn't get into the Apple buffer for pasting. It's terribly intermittent and I haven't tried to reproduce it. My usual ploy is to kill X11 and restart - because of course I am in the middle of something. Is there anything useful I can do when this happens to determine the cause?? Yesterday evening the authentication tool did not appear on screen when I woke up my Mac from slumber. This happens twice or three times per year. So only a reboot could help. In single-user mode fsck did not find any errors, so I rebooted in multi-user mode. And now I don't have even one responsive tool (Mac OS X is really lame). Hopefully a re-install of X11 works ... (plus 10.4.11 Combo Update, plus latest but one Security Update) -- Greetings Pete Rain is saved up in cloud banks.

2.3.2.1: Colors wrong in vim in xterm

When running vim in xterm in 2.3.2.1, the colors aren't being represented correctly for me. A screenshot can be seen here: http://logicaldiscord.com/images/X11_2.3.2.1_vim_color_issue.png The xterm on the left is showing the "incorrect" colors and the rxvt window on the right is showing what the colors are supposed to (well, used to) look like. I did not see this issue in 2.3.2_rc3, so it's definitely something that happened between then and now. I also tried both xterm 237 and 238 (237 was installed via MacPorts) and had the same results. Unfortunately, I did not try rc4, rc5 or 2.3.2 so I can't narrow it down much further than than after 2.3.2_rc3. Also seems to happen if I ssh from a Linux system with X11 forwarding and run an xterm from my Mac, displaying on the Linux X server. - Chris
