I'm holding option, command, and sometimes both while clicking all over the menu bar and I'm not seeing any problem =( --Jeremy On Jun 26, 2008, at 03:40, John Koren wrote:
Jeremy,
I just did a bit more investigation. It occurs if just click on the menubar item (while holding the option/command keys) but don't select any item from the pulldown menus. I can also get the keyboard working again by pressing option/command keys second time. It affects X11, Applications, Edit, Window, and Help, not blank space. It also affects a menubar item called "caffeine" if I start it up and try to reach it's Preferences (which requires pressing the command key). Caffeine is affected only if X11.app is the top application running.

Seems to work fine here... odd. I'll try it on my G4 laptop when I get a chance... just to be certain, where are you clicking on the menu bar? X11? Applications? Edit? Window? Help? blank space?

I have found that when I press the option or command keys and at the same time click at X11.app menubar items, my keyboard freezes. Strangely, I am able to get the keyboard working again by pressing twice the numeric lock button. I wonder if others are seeing this behavior.
I am using Powerbook G4 (Aluminum) with Mac OS 10.5.3, X11 2.3.0- rc4, X11-1.4.2-apple2, and Xquartz-1.4.2-apple2.
