could be you need to enable the Crash Reporter first with / Developer/Applications/Utilities/CrashReporterPrefs.app (on Tiger).
The problem is that this isn't a crash, it's a hang. I suppose I could kill it with "kill -SEGV" or similar to get it to be treated as a crash, but that might mess up the crash log somewhat.
