You're right, it's empty.
I thought that 2.1.4 updates everything to the newest version, and not just "patches" the current install.
So 2.1.4 updates just the binaries, but 2.1.3 updates the headers too? Isn't that a bit unusual? :/
yes, it's because I removed everything that was updated in OSX 10.5.2 ... I forgot that the OS update just updates X11User, not X11SDK
And how come you say "\"fix\""? Is there something wrong with installing 2.1.3 that would break later (Xcode?) updates?
No. I quoted it because it's not really broken... just the headers aren't what you need to compile the server (you could also just install the headers manually from the *proto packages from x.org).
Also, how long back do I have to go to fully update a 10.5.2 install? The website says Leopard's X11 is somewhere between 2.1.1 and 2.1.2. Should I install 2.1.2 first too?
If you install 2.1.3, then 2.1.4, you'll have all the headers and binaries. If you install just 2.1.4, you'll have all the latest binaries. 2.2.0 will include *all* bits of X11, not just updated bits. --Jeremy
