Ok, I've rolled up a new package. alpha3 has the following changes from 2.4.1_alpha2: X.org packages released over the past day (check xorg-announce if you care) built with XCode 3.2.1 rather than a version between 3.2.0 and 3.2.1 fixed linking issues with xterm, xset, xdpyinfo http://static.macosforge.org/xquartz/downloads/X11-SL-2.4.1_alpha3.dmg I haven't been able to reproduce the "X11 stops receiving input events once we change away then back" issue. If you are experienceing that issue, please try: 1) Update to the 1.7 based server I just built: http://static.macosforge.org/xquartz/downloads/SL/X11.bin-1.7.0.901.bz2 * Just decompress, then replace /Applications/Utilities/XQuartz.app/ Contents/MacOS/X11.bin * No need for install_name_tool foo... this was built on SL for SL 2) From Terminal.app, run the following: xmodmap -pk xinput test keyboard # hit some keys with XQuartz.app focused xinput test pointer # move your mouse while XQuartz.app has focus Please try reproducing the problem from a fresh user account. Thanks, Jeremy
Jeremy The new approach of installing Xquartz alongside Apple's X11 has one downside I can see. Some programs, like Matlab.app, launch Apple's X11, even if your XQuartz is already running - which I suspect can have "bad consequences" due to there then being two X servers competing. Comments? Suggestions?
