There's no special way to install them via darwinbuild, and questions  
about using kexts are best directed at darwin-kernel at lists.apple.com.   
I am not a kernel engineer, so I recommend finding some other  
documentation. Perhaps start here:

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Conceptual/KEXTConcept/KEXTConceptIntro/KEXTIntro.html

Once you understand all of that, the "darwinup" command might be  
useful, which is part of darwinbuild.
