Is anyone here familiar with ditto(1)?

I'm probably crazy for trying this, but I'm attempting to re-integrate some of the PPC packages, in the hope that it might be possible to create a bootable Darwin 10 for PPC.  I've upgraded the IOADBFamily-6 package to Xcode native targets, and it builds correctly under Xcode.  However, it fails in Darwinbuild with this error:

Attached is the build log.  Can anyone tell me why this would build correctly under plain-old Xcode (project folder on my desktop), but not under DarwinBuild?
