Maybe /private/var/run/resolv.conf (which is also /var/run/ 
resolv.conf and /etc/resolv.conf)

By the way, has anyone a comprehensive reference on how name  
resolving is parameterized in MacOSX? For example, who changes the  
resolv.conf file, and who uses it?
