Matt Mackall has been pretty clear that he isn't interested in doing
the conversion to python 3:

So, for a the foreseeable future mercurial and friends will need to be py2X.

The forest extension is mostly dead, having been replaced with subrepos:

so I would recommend removing it. Same with hgsvn (replaced_by hgsubversion).
