Said mismatch issues didn't exist until Apple switched the default compiler
to clang and default runtime to libc++, in 10.9. In particular, while clang
was the default compiler on 10.8, libstdc++ was still the default runtime;
it was 10.9 that switched runtimes and thereby broke most of MacPorts' C++
ecosystem with g++.
