 I Googled the error message ("unknown flags (type) of section 6") and
 found [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6678574 this
 page] which suggests that you may to be running a version of Xcode
 designed for Mac OS X 10.4 (c.f. "/usr/lib/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8") but
 you're running Mac OS X 10.5 (c.f. "Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.2"). Install
 Xcode 3 and you should be fine.
