 Replaced the tar.gz in /opt/local/var/macports/disfile/pkgconfig
 then things went smoothly.
 The freedesktop.org server is currently down for maintenance. Could this
 lead
 to the issue? I did however not receive an indication that the file was
 not
 downloaded properly.
