Comment (by mdickens at nd.edu):

 I also see that python_select somehow gets ownership (in the sense of
 "port provides foo") of /opt/local/bin/{pydoc, python, pythonw} and such.
 While this is a good thing, it is still awkward when doing "sudo port
 uninstall python25" and the residual symlinks owned by python_select
 hanging around.  There has to be a better way.
