 I too have this exact same problem - the above commands yield the same
 results and error messages. I did a fresh MacPorts install about 24 hours
 ago, followed by a gnucash build. I set this in variants.conf as per the
 GnuCash/MacPorts installation instructions:

 +no_static
 +no_x11
 -x11
 +quartz

 I've spent a lot of time searching for a solution and this is the first
 place where I've seen someone post the same error message.

 Is this a new bug or does this one need re-opening?
