 Python 2.6 has as dependencies:
 gettext, zlib, openssl, tk, sqlite3, db46, ncurses, gdbm, bzip2, readline

 These should probably be listed as variants (probably as +no_tk, etc.), as
 python can successfully configure, build, install, and be used without
 them.

 On a personal note, something like this is really important to me, as
 python is just a dependency for me, and these other ports aren't strictly
 necessary.
