 It appears to be hanging on the post-activate code:

 }}}

 It hangs on the first part of the code:  (use-modules (ice-9 slib))

 The "require" part never gets executed.  I can reproduce this on the
 command line:
 {{{
 $ guile
 (use-modules (ice-9 slib))
 hangs...
 }}}
