Comment:

 The fontconfig port disappeared from the PortIndex for a short time
 starting in r50574 because it used ${x11prefix} which was removed from
 MacPorts base in r50573. r50572 was supposed to have removed all
 references to ${x11prefix} from all ports, but this one case in fontconfig
 was forgotten. This was fixed in fontconfig in r50581, which then
 reappeared in the PortIndex in r50583. The port was only "gone" for an
 hour.

 So all you need to do is

 {{{
 sudo port selfupdate
 }}}

 and try again.
