 I have experienced same issue with libsdl_mixer. No instructinons from
 [http://trac.macports.org/ticket/22396] helped. I tried all of

 sudo port sync
 sudo port install libsdl_mixer
 sudo port clean --all libsdl_mixer
 sudo port install libsdl_mixer
 }}}
