 Incidentally, MacPorts '''explicit''' policy is to depend and link, as
 much as possible, on the MacPorts dist itself, which is why the FSF
 compilers are used instead of Apple's. Also, I require gcc43 and (soon)
 gcc44 which are not apple-standard.
