New description:

 Numerous ports that built successfully for me a year ago (7/2009) fail
 with various errors 7/2010.  I wish to build texlive and xfig.  Here is

 Please remember to use WikiFormatting.

 autoconf 2.66 had several problems. We downgraded autoconf to 2.65. Have
 you used "sudo port sync" and "sudo port upgrade autoconf" to get this
 change?
