 Hello,
 The xemacs port links against /opt/local/lib/libX*.  On my snow Leopard
 box, xemacs hangs on startup because the X11 library in macports does not
 seem to understand my "/tmp/launch*" DISPLAY format.  When I build xemacs
 from source and link against /usr/X11R6/lib/libX*, there is no hang.  The
 hang occurs in getaddrinfo(), when xemacs for some reason looks up the
 machine associated with DISPLAY.  I have discussed this on the xemacs-beta
 list and come to the conclusion that this is a MacPorts bug.
 Thanks for your attention and help in solving this matter.  For now, I
 must build xemacs by hand and forego the MacPorts xemacs.
