 The relevant error seems to be:

 gcc-4.2: -E, -S, -save-temps and -M options are not allowed with multiple
 -arch flags
 }}}
 This means irssi is trying to build universal (i.e. for multiple
 architectures) and is failing.

 So irssi's universal variant should be disabled.

 In addition, it looks like you did not actually request the universal
 variant, so I suspect the reason why it is nevertheless building universal
 is because you have a perl port installed with the universal variant. I
 believe this is because #24779 has not been resolved. To work around the
 issue, install the perl port without the universal variant.
