 partial resolution committed in r73295:
   xpdf installs its tools with mangled names (xpdf-*)
   xpdf-tools links xpdf-* to its non-mangled name
   poppler conflicts with xpdf-tools

 This should allow those of us who want the xpdf version of the CLI tools
 to have them with minimal impact.
