New description:

 When trying to install ghostscript under Snow Leopard 10.6.8 I got the
 following error messages:

 {{{
 Error: Problem while installing ghostscript
 Error: Unable to execute port: upgrade groff failed
 }}}

 I'm including the log file.
 Many thanks in advance

Comment:

 The log says:
 {{{
 warning: in /opt/local/lib/libfontconfig.dylib, file was built for i386
 which is not the architecture being linked (x86_64)
 }}}
 So... why is your libfontconfig built for i386? Have you migrated to Snow
 Leopard from Leopard without rebuilding all your ports? Read
 [wiki:Migration].
