#28326: gpsd @2.95 +python26 installs Python modules in wrong location

 Reporter:  aymeric.augustin@…               |       Owner:  macports-tickets@…
     Type:  defect                           |      Status:  new
 Priority:  Normal                           |   Milestone:
Component:  ports                            |     Version:  1.9.2
 Keywords:                                   |        Port:
---------------------------------------------+------------------------------
 The Python modules are installed in `/opt/local/lib/python2.6/site-
 packages`. But that directory is not in `PYTHONPATH`.

 They should probably be installed in
 `/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6
 /site-packages` instead.

 Example:

 {{{
 Python 2.6.6 (r266:84292, Dec 23 2010, 12:57:07)
 [GCC 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5664)] on darwin
 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
 >>> import gps                                # fails
 Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
 ImportError: No module named gps
 >>> import sys; sys.path.append('/opt/local/lib/python2.6/site-packages')
 >>> import gps # works fine now
 >>>
 }}}

 I can avoid the problem by setting `PYTHONPATH`, but it may be interesting
 to understand why this port behaves differently from all other ports that
 install Python modules.
