 I solved my problem. Thanks a lot jmr for your comment. The problem has
 been that I copied the Portfile to my own ports directory to upgrade to a
 newer version. I followed the macports guide on this, but this subtle
 detail about patch files is missing ;-)

 Thanks a lot for helping. I think the ticket could be closed. Maybe
 someone could write a small note in the macports guide on this.
