 You don't have another Mac. But if you did, you would do as I explained
 above: Install MacPorts and Xcode and then the port.

 Sorry, MacPorts requires Xcode at this time. I haven't paid much attention
 to your descriptions of your system configuration because it doesn't seem
 relevant, so long as you've installed OS X and Xcode and MacPorts. You can
 of course install MacPorts from source and set its prefix to anything you
 like -- for example if your boot disk is small, you can set the prefix to
 be on your second drive. Xcode must be on the boot drive though. You can
 however omit (or delete after installation) some things that take up space
 that MacPorts doesn't need, such as the documentation and examples and iOS
 SDKs.
