Comment:

 emacs, clisp and sbcl are all normal ports that fetch normal distfiles
 from a normal web site. slime, on the other hand, has to connect to a CVS
 server to download the source. So it seems that your Sprint mobile hotspot
 does not allow CVS connections. You'll have to talk with Sprint about that
 if you want that changed.
