Hi - new to this, but I have the latest Apple MacBookPro code of Lion,
Xcode, X11, System Utilities, Unix Utilities and I get the following when
 I try to type:

 MacBook-Pro-2:~ xxxx $ sudo port -v selfupdate
Warning: No index(es) found! Have you synced your source indexes?
---> Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync
rsync: failed to connect to rsync.macports.org: Connection refused (61)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at
 /SourceCache/rsync/rsync-42/rsync/clientserver.c(105) [receiver=2.6.9]
 shell command "/usr/bin/rsync -rtzv --delete-after
 rsync://rsync.macports.org/release/tarballs/base.tar
 /opt/local/var/macports/sources/rsync.macports.org/release/tarballs"
 returned error 10
Error: /opt/local/bin/port: port selfupdate failed: Error synchronizing
MacPorts sources: shell command failed (see log for details)

I am assuming that rsync.macports.org refusal is the issue here?
How do I fix and/or join this list to allow update with the .dmg
 installation?
Do I need to perform a full tar ball install to allow this to work?

All I seek is putty actually....

 Regards,
 Robert
