 i tried various things on the machine, but the problem persists:

 a) removed all perl versions and perl modules (p5-*, perl5) and all
 dependent ports, remove all *gettext* ports.

 b) updated the machine to 10.7.3 and XCode 4.3 and 4.3.1

 i did not really expect (b) to help, but i am somewhat surprised, that (a)
 did not help either. There are really many ports depending on help2man,
 which are blocked due to this.
