 oh right,

 i had to reactivate ncurses first
 sudo port -f activate ncurses

 {{{
 $ lipo -info /opt/local/lib/libncurses.dylib
 Non-fat file: /opt/local/lib/libncurses.dylib is architecture: x86_64
 }}}

 now glib2 works!
