 This turns out to have been an issue with PyQt4, that they hopefully fixed
 in last night's snapshot (accord to http://www.mail-
 archive.com/pyqt at riverbankcomputing.com/msg26483.html ). I'll look into
 that commit and see if I can come up with a patch.

 I think this ticket is probably a duplicate of ticket #36479, but I'll
 keep them both open for now.
