New description:

 Attempts to "install latex2man +full" fails with:

 {{{
 --->  Computing dependencies for latex2man
 --->  Configuring latex2man
 Error: reinplace: sed: RE error: illegal byte sequence
 Error: org.macports.configure for port latex2man returned: reinplace
 sed(1) failed
 Please see the log file for port latex2man for details:
 /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_textproc_latex2man/latex2man/main.log
 To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide:
     http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets
 Error: Processing of port latex2man failed
 }}}

 My suggestion is to use gsed, and make this port depend on it.

 Regards,

 Liviu
