 Users shouldn't care what they use, until:
   * their favourite package stops working (as is the case with C++11
 utilities such as mkvtoolnix, FileZilla, potentially Root with more
 dependencies, ...)
   * using `libc++` means that users who manually compile different
 software and want to link against something in MacPorts would run into
 problem if they forget to set `libc++`: automatic switch would probably
 break things for a number of users (but such things also break when a
 library gets updated etc.)

 The reason why I often don't like to go out of defaults is because I'm
 really not eager to have to recompile every Qt or gcc or clang upgrade.
 It's ok for a few packages and I'm willing to sacrifice some time for
 experimenting and fixing things, but using a non-default macports package
 is "a pain" compared to the default one since the introduction of
 buildbots.
