Comment:

 That shows the process blocked in kernel-land, doing some IO on your HFS
 filesystem.  I remember seeing issues like this occasionally on Mountain
 Lion, but I don't remember seeing them for a while now, so maybe it's
 fixed in Mavericks or Yosemite.

 In any event here, this is a kernel bug and not something we can fix.
