 The issue is not with the compiler version, but with detecting the
 processor type in the OpenBLAS build; this explains the difference between
 the Mac Pro and MacBook Pro (because the latter has a Broadwell CPU).

 This has been fixed upstream in OpenBLAS, but has not been merged into
 master or a release yet (see #48381).  The linked GitHub page contains
 suggestions for workarounds in the meantime.
