 Thanks for the info.  Option-click works on my MacBook track-pad as well
 (with XQuartz).

 I've been getting by with editing the .fig file in Emacs, and starting new
 files first in Emacs and then opening them in xfig, but now I can paste in
 a filename for Save As.
