 It works fine for me on Yosemite. On my system, the next thing after
 finding awk is:

 {{{
 checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
 }}}

 What version of Xcode do you have installed? What does `xcodebuild
 -version` say? What about `clang -v` and `make -v`?
