 Hmm, yes actually it does.  I'm fuzzy now on the history of why it's
 also called in post-activate (similarly in '%post' of the rpm spec file).
 Perhaps because of not knowing the path to mktexlsr?  Or permissions
 in the different phases?
 Which one might be the best place? (could disable either one)

 Which variant (texlive or Mactex) caused these messages?

 I'll respond to #47972...
