Comment:

 Updated in r142008.

 The port has x11 and aqua variants, but neither is enabled by default;
 when built in this state, I got this error when running the program:

 {{{
 angband: Unable to prepare any 'display module'!
 }}}

 Therefore I made the aqua variant the default now.
